In 1999, Global Finance led a management buyout, aiming at restructuring the company, controlling its costs, strengthening the management and expanding its franchisees network.
Since then, Dodoni is widely regarded as the leading premium quality scooped ice cream chain of shops across Greece. It is offering unique tastes, premium quality and variety throughout the year. It has been expanding its operations by producing a wide range of sweets and snacks while at the same time the stores have been refurbished into Dodoni Café, now offering full service in café and beverages.
In 2007 NBGI Private Equity acquired a majority stake in the company in a secondary leveraged buyout transaction.
