Orange Romania is a leading mobile telecommunications operator in Romania and one of the largest and most profitable companies in the country.The majority of Orange Romania’s shares is held by Orange (~68%) which in turn belongs to France Telecom one of the largest telecommunications carrier worldwide
Orange Romania operates one of the three GSM licenses granted by the Romanian government and has a market share of almost 38% of the total market (active and inactive users). It launched commercial service in June 1997 under the DIALOG & ALO brand names. In early 2003, the company re-branded its services under the very successful Orange brand name. Orange România also controls 4% of the Moldovan operator Orange Moldova.
